Girls In Action

Girls in Action (GIA) is a social action leadership project for girls aged 12-19 (12-25 for SEND). The aim is to encourage more girls to access youth club sessions, whilst providing a safe place for girls to socialise, learn and grow as responsible citizens. Over a period of six months, the girls deliver a social action project of their choice to benefit the community; they invite other local girls to get involved and ask for support from their local Councillors, Executive Mayor and Youth Mayor. The girls work closely with their youth workers to plan and deliver these activities. The project creates opportunities for girls to volunteer, be part of the social action and develop their skills in leadership, communication, presentation, project delivery & management, community outreach and fundraising.
